Hot Pakistani summers and stomach infections can quickly cause dehydration, especially in children and the elderly.
What ORS does
Oral Rehydration Salts replace the water and salts the body loses. Mix the sachet exactly as written on the pack, in clean water.
Tips
- Give small sips often, even if the person is vomiting.
- Keep breastfeeding babies.
- Throw away mixed ORS after 24 hours.
Go to a doctor or hospital if
- There is blood in the stool.
- The person is very sleepy, not passing urine, or cannot drink.
- Diarrhoea lasts more than 2 days.
