It is late at night, a child has a fever, and the nearest medical store is closed. Knowing where the 24-hour pharmacies are before you need them saves time and stress. Here is how to find one quickly on XpertMedico.

1. Open your city's pharmacy page

Each city page lists every pharmacy and medical store on XpertMedico, with the ones open 24 hours marked:

2. Narrow it down to your area

In the big cities you can open a neighbourhood page to see only the stores near you. For example:

3. Use the map for "open now"

The map of stores shows pharmacies around your location and whether each one is open right now, with directions, phone and WhatsApp.

4. Check the medicine before you go

Search your medicine on XpertMedico. Its page shows which nearby stores list it, the price where the store has entered one, and medicines with the same salt in case your brand is not available. Read more about choosing between brands with the same salt.

Where 24-hour pharmacies usually are

  • Inside or opposite big hospitals. Most large hospitals have a pharmacy that never closes. See hospitals in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad.
  • On main roads and commercial markets in big neighbourhoods.
  • Large pharmacy chains often keep some branches open all night.

If it is an emergency

Do not wait to find a medicine if someone has chest pain, difficulty breathing, a seizure, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke or has taken an overdose. Call 1122 (or 115 for an Edhi ambulance) and go to the nearest hospital emergency. The emergency page shows hospitals and pharmacies open now. Read our list of emergency numbers in Pakistan.
